How Shakespeare made tension???

This story is a very interesting story, Shakespeare made a lot of tension. The most interesting part of tension in the story is the way he brought the witches into the story. The witches that he had put in the story where evil mind twisters, they told Macbeth his future, of being King which is why Macbeth decided to kill Duncan. Also Lady Macbeth was encouraging him to that’s why there was a whole plan behind him killing Duncan. If the witches weren’t in the story it would be completely different because he might not have killed Duncan and he would have been King at a later stage.

Another very interesting part of the story that was intriguing and very gory was when Macbeth practically cut the man in half. He started by stabbing him in his waist then dragged the knife through his body then up to his head the everything above his legs just dropped and split in half.

Another part of the story that intrigued me the most when Macbeth killed the king. The king treated him and loved him like a brother and trusted Macbeth the most. But even though we knew the witches were evil Macbeth didn’t so they twisted his mind and he then killed the man who truly trusted him.

Also the prophecy of Macbeth is what unfolded the reason of Duncan’s death. As I said I said in the first paragraph he was under more pressure because once he had known his fate he informed lady Macbeth and she grew impatient and made Macbeth kill Duncan.

“Double, double, toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble” The witches chant as they await the arrival of Macbeth.

The witches that he had put in the story where evil mind twisters, with super natural powers, but did they have magical powers? Or was it they were good at playing mind games as people didn’t really know what witches were capable of and therefore believed what was said to them. Macbeth a solider meets the witches they tell him of his future, of being King of Scotland and then vanish. In order for this to happen Macbeth decides to kill Duncan. Lady Macbeth who craves power and status encourages Macbeth to murder Duncan. Before he kills Macbeth is racked with guilt, therefore his wife decides to take control and that’s why there had to be a plan behind him killing Duncan. If the witches weren’t in the story it would be completely different because he might not have killed Duncan and he would have been King at a later stage.

Blood is everywhere throughout the story.

“Will all great Neptune’s ocean wash this blood, clean from hand” Macbeth after he has killed Duncan, cleaning his hands he feels that he is also cleaning his conscience as he feels guilty having just committed his first crime.

But even though we knew the witches were evil Macbeth didn’t so they played with his mind and as his wife craved power she encouraged him to kill the man who truly trusted him. Clearly at this point we can see that Macbeth did not want for anything and may have been a humble man that went to war came back a brave solider. He had a conscience and knew right from wrong but was not strong enough to do what would have been the right thing.

She should have died hereafter.

There would have been a time for such a word.

Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow,

Creeps in this petty pace from day to day

To the last syllable of recorded time,

And all our yesterdays have lighted fools

The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!

Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player

That struts and frets his hour upon the stage

And then is heard no more. It is a tale

Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,

    You have written the main body of your essay but you must now concentrate on being more formal and putting your ideas into a logical order.

    Targets:
    1) Rather than referring to the witches as ‘mind twisters’ try to develop your vocabulary to support what you mean and in a more sophisticated fashion. What do the witches do? Do they manipulate Macbeth? Do they trick him?
    You can also refer to them as a quotation from the text – maybe something that Macbeth or Banquo refer to them as…
    2) Place your ideas in a logical order – what is your most important point? Why? You next? So on…
    3) Support each paragraph with a quotation.
